Since getting back into bikes, I was browsing some forums and came across a Kuwahara rebuild from a bike bought at a garage sale.

It made me reminisce about my 1985 Kuwahara. I don't know the model but it was all chrome. I checked out the Kuwahara website and nothing looks the same anymore.

When I was in a bike store over the weekend, I saw the frame and forks of the bike I used to have.
Now i'm thinking of building a replica of my old bike.

Has anyone got any advice on this? Or can someone point me in the right direction of the model name even. It seems the same parts are almost non-existent so I'll need to work out replacement parts similar to the original.

My old one had Kuwahara branded everything! Tyres and grips with the logo but now they don't seem to do that.

Well I've started the process.

Just picked up grips, brake cables and seat post all Kuwahara stamped and the Elina seat.

Off to find the frame in the next few days. I know where I can get one but I'll look around for the best deal or this is going to cost a fortune!
