DOH just posted this in the spam thread.

If he is revealed for real then who will be the new stig?

I don't get why they revealed it. The whole appeal is not knowing who he really is!

+1 ^^^

Don't understand why they did that. it was pretty cool when it was revealed he was an ex-F1 tester who drove an average family sedan in real life but this just ruins the Stig enigma (that sounds like it would hurt). :D

A longer clip of the 'reveal' - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/8111588.stm

After the show a BBC spokeswoman could not confirm whether or not Schumacher was the genuine Stig, or a stunt to mark the first episode of a new series of Top Gear.

Says it all really...

Hasn't there always been more than one "White Stig"??
I remember something about the earlier Stig being replaced because he opened his mouth about being The Stig. Surely they'd just replace Michael upon showing his identity too.

A quick google tells me this:

However at the end of the show this was implied to be an elaborate joke. Schumacher was also credited as the Special Guest of the episode, separately to 'The Stig'.

Yeah for sure $$chumacher!

Plus, I can't see him having the time for filming. Nor sit there coaching those unknown UK stars in a reasonably priced car. :loling:
