Hello everyone!
Well I see that this is a diverse bunch of bicycle users on this forum so I will state that my interest here is to connect with and share tips with fellow Motorised bicycle enthusiasts. To all of your real cyclists... well I hope you think we cheaters are not all a bunch of lazy *******! Truth is my motorised bike is my primary form of transport which I rely on like someone would a car, motorbike or scooter. Big respect to all of you fit cyclists who do more km a week than me at the same speed and using only their muscle strength... I wish I were that fit
To the motorcyclists out there... Well I got my first engine off ebay from the US in 2004. A 48cc Grubee knock off. That lasted a year but the clutch finally went. 5 years later and I am on my 3rd engine, the last two both from Warren from zbox.xom.au Now my current engine got my up and down the highway and hills near Byron Bay last year... clocked maybe 2000km and now it being resurrected back in Melbourne on my flash brand new hybrid bike.
I have oodles of experience gleaned over the years I hope to share with you all. I have solved most common problems and have squeezed every last drop out of these engines short of serious engine mods which I neither have the tools nor expertise to pull off.
So I hope to contribute on this forum and learn a thing or two as well

Awesome stuff! Welcome on board Rohan :)
That's a LOT of milage! I assume what most of the boys here are doing to their bikes, ie: gutting exhausts, drilling holes in their intake etc will potentially make their engines blow up way before seeing milage like you've seen!
Looking forward to seeing some pics and hearing more stories :)

greetings mate
and justin, gutting a 2 stroke exhaust is a bad idea, they work better with more back pressure, hence the expansion chamber design. I've had an idea of building a board track racer look alike with a hotted up little engine :) again on the drilling holes in the intake, bad idea go out and get the biggest (and I mean the biggest) foam motorcross filter you can find and make it fit your carby, it's hard to explain but trust me it works!

If it means anything. I ride mine to work! I also ride my bicycle. However in the summer. Motorized gets me there without walking it the office sweaty.
G`day all, im now on second bike motor, my 1st one was a black hawk 4 stroke for dual suspension bike it did me well lasted a couple of years but i soon got sick of replacing belts so i upgraded to a grubee 80cc bad boy, my first impression of the motor was good until my exhaust manifold studs stripped out threads, i drilled and tapped them to 8x1.25 now the exhaust is rock solid, then the carby flange cracked off MR Biker Boy on ebay( is where i bought the kit from) was NO HELP AT ALL, i am a competent mechanic, and my install was nothing short of perfect, MBB imports would accept no responsibility for dodgy parts and asked for photo`s of my install before signing off on warranty, i supplied many pics of my install and instead of him coming to the party he simple banned me from purchasing any replacement parts for my motor, now im stuck with a motor i cant get parts for. so be warned MBB imports are not the place to buy from in my opinion. if i knew prior to buying that this would happen i would never of purchased my motor from this rip off seller, the kits might be genuinely good but mine was flawed and he claims NO responsibility, all i wanted was a replacement carby but rather than warrantying me a carby or asking me to pay for it he simply banned me from purchasing anything from his ebay store, not good customer relations at all. be warned MBB will rip you as they did me, i currently have the motor running but i do not know how long the silicone will hold the carb together. i will post pics of my bike after work tonight......... RANT OVER>:(
