I have headset A and i have crown race B.

I dont know if crown race B was meant for headset A.

Is there any way that i can make sure crown race B works for headset A? I have tested the crown race on the headset and it seems flush and spins free but id rather not guesstimate on this.

Or should i just purchase a new headset?

You could try the manufacturer website and see if they list specs or have an exploded view of their headsets.

Or ride it for a bit and if it doesn't work loose then it's okay!

If you do ride it and there's a slight problem in the interface you're only likely to destroy either the race or the lower headset cup or both. If that happens, you buy a new headset and you're no worse off than you were before. That's what I'd do.

I wouldn't do that, however, if it was either an integrated headset or if it was in a carbon frame.

haha sorry wasn't my intention to be illusive. Original owner does not have the original crown race.

i will take it to the lbs and see if they think its alright. if they say its alright to use crown race b then so be it.
