i got out there at 7:30 and did a lap before the night ride but it was fantastic! i think it was the biggest group we have had for our weekly nite rides...9 in total i think. We did the BB extension too...

Clifton means the section that was remade , poorly I might add. Not only are the water bars to steep, the channels are too deep. It's only a matter of time before someone ( more than likely an unsuspecting noob) has a large off there. I know this is a shared trail and that land management was more than likely the primary concern but imho there was zero consultation with riders on the redesign of this section , which sucks considering they outnumber walkers 100/1. We haven't really had a serious rain event as yet, my money is those channels will eventually develop into chasms'. To make matters worse someone has decided to build 2 ghetto gap jumps along this section. The first is about 1 1/2 feet high and 1 foot wide with a steepish take off , the second is about the same size but off camber and a flatter takeoff, both located on the far right of the trail. I've hit the second at speed and only just cleared the gap , maybe my skills are crap ?. Now don't get me wrong I am all for properly constructed TTF's but I get the impression these were built by a couple of 13 year olds and will probably get knocked down by the rangers anyway.

i havent noticed the jumps yet, i usually just pump through the section. they basically went thru it with a bobcat and flattened it turning it into yet another freeway. im usually not bothered to put any riding effort in that section, its, as well as many other section around the dam, have been flattened by council or riders. the dam use to be challenging, now all the hard stuff has been flattened or smoothed(is there such a word :D) out.
