View Full Version : These cranks good?
Good Morrow,
I'm looking for cranks for my new purchase and are these cranks any good? They are a very good price and i can get them easily. The Sram Omnium Crankset is only like $20 more tho. I haven't looked at Sugino as every man and his fixie has them. I won't be doing tricks, just smashing it around the city.
These are the cranks i'm talking about.

Cheers Tim.
They look fairly similar to the omniums. I don't know anything about these, having never heard of them before. Will the English BB that they come with suit your purchase?
I have the omniums in black, my mate has them in silver. I've not had a problem with them and they're really stiff (important) but they creak and crackle a bit.

How about the paul love cranks?
Seen these on a bianchi fixie at uni. They look quite chunky, especially the non drive side arm. Can post a pic at a later date if you want?
they are a mass produced chinese built crank much like everything else. Japanese based company i believe...
Rex make cranks which retail for $100 and look and work exactly like my sugino messengers...
Jing, Pauls Cranks are uber exxy!

They look uber sweet but not the style i'm going for on this build. Thanks any ways dude.

oh mr chow i want your ride
i also toyed with the idea of running road cranks and running a ss ring on it. It seems possible to say buy a set of sram force cranks and run race face decandant rings on them. I thought that would have looked cool.

clean your bb, sram bbs get full of shit.
Thanks guys... After more research and talking to a cool local bike shop, I'm going to go with the Truvativ Omnium because they come with a sealed BB, which i've been told you you need here because of the weather.
So that cancels out the suginos unless i get a uber nice Phil wood BB.
