Looking to upgrade

I'm looking to upgrade my cassette it's currently running the stock Shimano CS-HG30 8 speed 11-32. Finding a few issues with it of late ie not getting into gear properly or lagging in gear changes. Plus it's about time I made a mod or two apart from cosmetic ones (grips). At first I thought about just going up a model but since the current one isn't sold by any of the online shops I figure I should get some advice and shop around. Thinking about getting a SRAM PG850 about $40 and need two new chains (spare one for June). Any help or advice would be appreciated as I'm a noob to mods.

Although yes, a new/better casette might give you crisper uptake or lighter weight, it sounds more like you want to get the gears tuned or the derailer/cable/shifter changed.
