Hey all

Got my Fox shock today from CBD and i didnt really look at the fork as i was more blown away by the frame.

I have a question about the year model of the fork supplied as i stipulated i wanted the 2011 with Kashima coating which it does not have.....

Forgetting the fact i asked for Kashima coating is this a 2011 fork as i dont think it is.... there is a 2011 book in the bubble wrap they came in lol

I was expecting a fork that looked like this one decal wise

Looks like a 2010 fork to me. All 2011 have the graphics the same as the one you posted below.

As i said in your bigtop thread all models but the RL come with Kashima coating as standard.

I believe OEM forks have the standard coating as well, only the after market ones get the kashima coating as well.
But that's not OEM, and definitely has 2010 graphics.

that is no doubt 2010

2011 oem forks have that band around the top of the decal but the decal is in monotone. Where as aftermarket gets blue stripes ontop

thanks guys.

I was 99% certain they were the 2010 model but i wanted someone else to confirm for me before i contact CBD asking for the 2011 that i ordered.

I dont know if its just the norm for Fox to supply the new books once made regardless of model, but their supplier even went as far as giving me a 2011 Fox book with them lol

I should have noticed before i left the shop but i was concentrating more on the frame than anything else :D

When they spoke to the supplier he said they wanted to offload the 2010 stuff but i told them i wanted the 2011 fork. i am sure it wont be a problem.

I am sure there is nothing wrong with the 2010 forks but i want the new stuff :)

That's not even a 2010 aftermarket fork, it's an OE fork. You can differentiate them from the grey vs. coloured decals.

I would be getting back onto CBD cycles and asking the question why they're selling OE forks as 'aftermarket'.

It also seems form the picture it has a tapered steerer, is that right?
The 29er forks weren't available aftermarket in tapered in 2010 either.

I guess kind of.

I didnt check it before i walked out and Chris admitted he didnt look at what was delivered either.

But, it appears his supplier has been supplied some suspicious goods doesnt it....

Thanks fro that info fat, i will be sure to quiz them about it when i see them :D
