It's a 10tooth rear, The guy in the bmx shop said the most common gearing for street/DJ is 25t-14t. He said the ratio of 23t-10t should be fine, I'm mainly going to be doing street not Dj's.
Any one have suggestions of good lightish rims? preferably in black? I'm going to be fitting Maxxis Holy Rollers 26x2.4.

i say steer clear of holy rollers, they're too fat and heavy.
Go Kenda NPJ or Tioga FS100 or Table tops!

the size of them really got to me.. too fat, ruined the lines of the bike, dont look good either and there are lighter tyres out there.
Micro nobbies or NPJ or Small block 8's.
Nice going to, looking good too.
Rhino lites aren't a bad rim, maybe mavic719, bit heavy maybe, or WTB laser disc trail front and DH or freeride (which ever lighter) for the back/ Maybe even just MTX plain and simple?

If it was mine I'd be putting on those Intense micro knobbies for sure.

Schwable Table Tops maybe? Micro Nobbies wear out pretty fast, but if I had the money to get MN once every few months then I would!
Thanks for the tyre info guys!!
This morning i picked up this from my LBS as i dropped my trek off for a service.

On the tyre front I've decided to go with the new Kenda NPJ's. From what i can find they have awesome grip on the street and in the park, The only problem is getting my hands on some.

This maybe the last update for a month or so because i just booked a 3 week hol to japan so all my money is going towards that.
As far as rims go I'd be looking at these if I was doing looking for a street rim.
- Sun Equalizer 546g.
- Mavic 721 590g
- Sun Ryno Lite XL 512g
and if your looking really cheap
- Sun Singletrack 540ish g
and Ryno Lite XL again.
- Halo Freedom Disc 545g
My pick personally would be the 721. Just look at some of the reviews for them for justification.

Jebus, this is going to be a great ride! You won't regret going the NS Sub - i've ridden numerous street cromoly bikes and, along with the Last Raffnix, its the nicest feeling frame around (still).
In regards to tyres, IMO its really worth finding some 2.25 Schwalbe Table Tops, even the non-folding versions. I've been running some on my Suburban for quite a while now (for street primarily) and they are brilliant. Perfect width, very fast rolling, really light (replaced Hollyrollers and boy did my legs notice the difference!!!) and nice amount of grip on dirt if needed. I've also not gotten a flat riding street since running them (unless my riding had improved hahaha...um yeah, right).
Was also going to put my 2c in regarding rims but now will just have to wait and see what your now getting built.
Hurry up with the updates! :p
Picked up my wheels yesterday. Rims are Mavic 721's with DtSwiss black spokes. The NS hubs are super smooth and the ratchet sound of the hub is awesome.
They didn't have any 26" street tyres in left in stock so i have ordered some, i will be picking them up thursday when i get back from melb.
Here is what it looks like atm.

FINISHED. I will take more and better photos when i get time.

Pretty sweet apart from the tyres :p
Hookworms are heavy as fark and not the best performing tyre but hey, too late to worry, it's still awesome :p
But I'm sure you'll feel a considerable weight difference if you upgraded to something like shwalbe tabletops, kenda npjs etc.
I know they are but npj's are incredibly hard to find, TBSM just got some more in recently and my LBS didn't have any and couldn't get any.
I will prolly get something different soon, after i ride it a bit. I'm mainly doing park and street riding even tho there are DJ just 2km from my house.
WOOT! now for action shots!
Nice build. I wouldnt mind a bike like this once i have the funds :)
what did the tyres cost you? I need something for the Sydney to Gong ride for the Trance
They were $45 from For the Riders up here in brizzy, These are the 26x2.5" version TBSM has the 1.95" version for $36.
What about Tioga FS100? They were awesome tyres for street, couldn't fault them, but they had little grip for djs. I've never tried Table Tops but really want to as they seem get alot of praise.
Bike lots awesome, action shots!!!
Never thought of tioga for DJ tyres. I will look into them.
I'm looking at the table tops cos they are almost half the weight of the hookworms and are a little more suited to DJ.

yeah the Schwalbe TT's are very good in hard pack conditions like DJs.
Bike looks the goods though, should be a hoot. Well done.
I wouldn't really consider the Tiogas as a dj tyre. Their great for street but not so good for dj.
Kenda Small Block Eights are also an awesome tyre for street/dirt riding. I've had a set for about 8 months now and riding 20kms a day they're getting pretty worn down but pretty much any tyre apart from a semi-slick would be as well.
I like them because I ride my voltage for everything and they have awesome grip on most surfaces except really loose stuff, even then they are surprising for how the tyre looks. They roll super fast on the park too and I can't really fault them.
I'd say they are just as good as the NPJ's, shwalbe TT's and Tioga FS100s, and it is worth it for the extra grip on the dirt jumps.
i've got some crossmarks on the front of my p3 now and the first thing i noticed is that with a slightly heavier tyre the bike seemed to be a lot more stable mid air *was running ardent previously*. The slightly lighter tyre upfront makes the bike less predictable?
is that just me?
Nah its not just you. A heavier bike will definately be more stable in the air, but it will be harder to manouver in the air and so makes it harder to do tricks like moto whips, flattys etc.
Its like a midway balance I think. A 10kg 26" park bike would be twitchy as fark in the air which would make it really easy to manouver in the air but also extremely hard for a beginner to ride confidently cos they'd never be able to land it straight...
That's my thoughts anyway. Clarification someone?:p
yup my p3 was 14kg before and i noticed it was noticebly harder to pop off the lip but stayed much more stable as to the way it is now which is around 11.5kg.
I don't know what mine weighs yet. Need to buy some new scales. I have the feeling it's around the 12-13kg mark.
I've actually got a spare SB8 lying around in 2.35, i might chuck that on the front and get a 2.1 for the rear. The SB8 aint much heavier than the Table tops.
I found my local DJ's yesterday, they were alot bigger than i thought they would be  The smallest one was around 1.5m high with around 1m table top. Bike feels alot better in the air than my trek mtb. While i was out there some awesome guys turned up and started going whips and supermans and shit like that and then i left....
I bought some hanging scales yesterday and weighed the bike as it was and it came to 13.27kg, little more than i expected.
I rang around the brizzy bike shops looking for some table tops but no luck so i just grabbed another Small Block 8(all ready had one in the parts cupboard) and fitted them this morning.
Now the weight of the bike is down to 12.26, HUGE difference just in tyres. Bike feels heaps lighter to bunny hop. Hopefully will head down the to jumps this arvo if it doesn't rain.
