What are you thoughts on this bike? Thinking of buying one and wanted a few opinions.

Please don't just tell me that this bike is crap. I want to know why you think that.

Cheers

that is a great looking bike... if that is your thing. personally i think commuters/ fixies whatever should be low key to stop theft.....

oh but wait a minute.....do people ride fixies?

:D

This would actually be my fixed gear training bike and not necessarily a full time commuter. I already have a specialized allez roadie and love the frame geo. This is essentially the same geo so I would have no trouble with musculoskeletal problems when swapping between bikes.

As a commuter, I have the advantage of locking it in a room at both ends of the commute (i.e. home and office).

I just think it is an unusual looking bike and if taken care of, would likely retain its value, also considering that not many of them are around.

If you find a geo that works- go for it..... its GOLD when it fits eh?

I rode a New York Langster last year and really liked it apart from the stupid tiny bars. Very light, rode well. Ended up on an SE Lager though which I'm very happy with.

Personally I'd be too precious about the carbon fork. I like being able to abuse steel and not worry about it. The fact that it was a heap cheaper helped as well.

The langster is much maligned because I guess to many it symbolises the trendiness of the fixed gear culture. I have always thought their geometry looked a little kooky, though having never ridden one I haven't a basis for comment.
At the end of the day they are good value, they're not hi-tensile steal and they have great parts - a really good buy. Where are you getting it from? I would be interested in seeing one in the flesh.

Then post 12084pics of it. Keeping it stock standard?

The bike will be kept stock standard until at least 1000km are clocked up. I think this will be a replace and upgrade when things wear out kind of bike.

Nice.
1000km on a fixie is alot of riding!

I'm already pushing 300km per week on my roadie so this bike will be used once a week for about a 50km ride.

about 5 months of riding
