So the story so far goes like this;
Bought an old 70's Mexican Windsor frame from the eBay. Good size for me and liked the lugs and general look of the frame.
One of the previous owners I think attempted to rattle spray it some sort of a camo colour - didn't quite work out.
Spent a couple of hours last weekend taking off some of the braze-ons .
Lesson 1 - don't be too heavy handed with the grinder. Not too much damage and managed to recover most of it with some wet n dry and elbow grease. Happy with the braze-on removal.
Then decided to sand some of the paint off as I could see there were decals hiding under the spray paint. Glad I did it because it revealed all of the original decals which at least told me what model Windsor it is. Turns out it's a Windsor Sprint SS 5 Velo. Haven't been able to find anything about this particular model, so to date know nothing about it.
So far I've purchase a set of new forks and a NOS Nitto stem.
Still a way to go but it's happening.
Posting a few pics so you've got some visuals to go with the words.
I've also been working a 'serving suggestion' so you can see what the finished bike looks like in my head at the moment.
Any advice, comments, do's and don'ts most welcome - I'm new round here.
ps: Can anyone tell me how to make the images appear bigger in the post?
