City Bike Depot is the best shop in Central Sydney for Mountain Bike Stuff. Then Clarence St is good for road bikes (downstairs). Wooleys in Paddington is a rip-off but i quite get on with a couple of guys in the workshop. The owner is soooooo moody its not funny.

i can't believe some of the prices Clarence Street charges. They were after $300 an end for '09 SLX brakes. I went to MCC and they quoted $380 for both ends.
Inflated prices was also noted on some Avid's and even smaller things like the mudguards, lights and handlebar grips.

Will have to check out City Depot tomorrow.
Training is like fighting with a gorilla. You don't stop when you're tired. You stop when the gorilla is tired.

Ruskie: I just checked the Shimano pricing. That discrepancy seems fair (as hard as it might be to understand). SLX brakes went up a large percentage between shipments. From roughly $400RRP to $600RRP.

At the new price, MCC wouldnt be able to do F+R for 380 and make money. Shimano have some stock at old pricing and some at new. At new pricing, 300 and end is closer to what you'd be looking at.

But Shitmano doesnt have stock of anything (most common items are out of stock, making it impossible to do business at the moment.
