Default Salsa Casseroll, Single no more!

Under a week after putting a deposit down with Grant at MC Cyclery, I've got my birthday present a day early. A 51cm Salsa Casseroll Single.

To put it in perspective, I've only ever owned Giants, a Gary Fisher and a Raceline before and the build quality on this is something I've never seen on a bike. I've posted a bunch of photos at the end with detail shots so you can see the attention to detail coming out of the factory. Suffice to say, I like it a lot.

The first bunch of photos are from taking it out of the box to having it semi assembled yet rideable. The main reason for this is to show that it's not that hard to do and to hopefully encourage others to buy either the Salsa Casseroll or Surly Steamroller through MCC's current fixie deal.

The bike isn't finished yet, but that's cause I need sleep due to an early start tomorrow. Still have to wrap the bar tape, cut the excess brake cable and generally adjust the fit of the bike. Took it for a quick and up and down the laneway though, and its extremely fun (and quick!) to ride.

The to do list at the moment is flat bars with levers to suit, a track cog for fixie goodness... aaaand that's it really. I was half planning on getting the frame sprayed in a different colour, but the wee/poo colours are really growing on me.

Ok, photos!!

The box!

As it was boxed

Untangled & with SPDs

Semi-assembled

Stem cut down, SPDs on, Seat dropped, Brakes connected

Salsa Classic Cromoly, so tasty

Oh I will

Bars & Stem

The most awesome Headbadge ever!

More to come as I finish it and start the modding process.

That's art! I can't believe you were even thinking about changing that paint! Love it Jarod. Congrats on the purchase.

After staring at the pictures for a number of hours, I have come to the conculsion the reflecters may/should/need to be removed.
