Default Suga's Giant TCR Alliance W

We ordered this Giant TCR Alliance W bike through MC Cyclery many months ago and we were'nt expecting it to come in until week 2 of 2009. We got it before the initial 10% price rise that Giant made world wide but we were about to get caught up in the new 15% price rise as of January 1st (all bikes not yet in the country by Jan 01, despite a deposit, will incur the new price hike). So awesome then that Giant shipped it earlier than expected!

Specs:
XS:43
Frame: Composite carbon fibre ALUXX SL alloy blend
Fork:T-700 3K composite blade with alloy steerer
Gear: Shimano 105 10sp.
Wheelset: Shimano WH-RS10 20/24H wheelset
Tyres: Vittoria Zaffiro 700 x 23c
Saddle: Fi'zi:k Vitesse Sport w/Magnese rail
Extras: Ladies bike with custom geometry, shorter stem, shallow drop bar, female-specific saddle and reach adjustable brake levers

So, without further adue, here are the pics!

1st thing Suga did was "fix" the drawing on the box.

In she gets!

Oh hello!

Packed super tight.

Another litthe box of surprises. The little adjustment screws on these new brakes make setting up the brakes so damn easy.

I KNEW this torque wrench would come in handy! Tightening the clamp around the carbon seatpost and carbon frame was so scary but not so scary with this tool.

8.6kg's (without pedals).

Suga so happy.

Suga carrying bike off...

... um where are you going hun?

WTF bike on the bed in the bedroom. I thought I was sick but this takes the cake!

She's a beauty.

Headtube.

Shifter brake combo.

Carbon forks.

The brushed finish Giant logotype is such a nice detail.

Front derailleur is brazed onto the frame (no clamp).

Fizik saddle.

Shimano wheelset. I assume these aren't the lightest option but we're not complaining.

Carbon goodness.

I've since tuned up the brakes and gears, put some flat track pedals on there for now (I'll get Suga on clips ASAP) and she rides great. Brakes are just so much easier to operate than my old school 80's thing and the gear shifting at your hands makes a world of sense.

The wheels aren't the best but they are the best training wheels any average punter would get.

Justin you watch out if she pumps in the km's your going to get trampled on by her.

nice ... very nice, pink is the new black. don't laugh.
its true the wheels will be fine for her.
the tcr's are pretty special. the graphics are about a 7.5/10 for me
not toooo bad.

make sure you get her fitted up to it correctly. otherwise she
won't enjoy riding it at all. the compact frames need a bit of work
with the correct setups

Very nice and for once- i love the decal design!! (Giant's decals usually turn me off them.)

Lets hope Suga gets some more use out of this than she did the mtb!

Suga rode the bike on Sat and today on her own too at Centennial. She loves it! Her saddle uncomfy though (it's hurting her woman bits).

Saturday Centennial Park. We've since got her some proper shorts + gloves. Need to get her on clips + a shorter stem + a nice helmet too
