Default Super Duper BMU Weekend pictures/videos thread!

I will be the first to post some pics. Hopefully this will bring back some fond memories for people. I had such an awesome time. Thanks for everyone who turned up yo! Very very happy.

GPS SET!

At the Sutton forest shell. Felix with his new toy...

20 odd people at this meeting spot. It was nice and chilly this morning which is always a good sign in the current heatwaves.

Nothing like what it felt like there. A lot more atmosphere if you were there!

After 1st loop. Everyone having a breather in the shaded area. It was actually quite breezy and enjoyable as long as you were not in the sun.

2nd lap through double black diamond trails *holy shoot, my new aim in riding is to be able to ride this trail* up heartbreak and down double dissolution. Prolly one of the hardest loops you can do around stromlo.

Cliffy on double dissolution

They are awesome pics Jing. I am loving all of them, especially the ones of Stromlo as it makes me realise what i missed out on and that i need to ride there ASAP!!!!!!! The Remedy would have loved it!!!!!

Whats the chances of everyone putting the pics and vids they have on discs and selling them to us as a momento of the great weekend we all had. I have no problems with giving someone $10/$15 for their time and effort. Although Jason and i were only there for one day it was the best day i have experienced in my time riding. So many great people and what an awesome place to enjoy it all!

And i hae forgotten to say it, but thank you so much for organising what truly was THE Epic BMU ride. One which will take a while to beat i am sure.

I cant wait for the next one.

I was so deaded during and at the end of both days, my bum has never ever been so sore, ever!

What a weekend.

The last ride (trails 3 and some of 4 at Stromlo) really was truly epic. We climbed heartbreak at Stromlo, Carl scored a flat on the way down (Roller Coaster was rocky, fast and technical, my kinda DH!) and failed to repair his slime tube, luckily Sven and I waited for him further down, he ended up walking down to us and with a spare tube from Felix we were able to get going again. We were riding on empty stomachs as we hadn't had lunch and all 3 of us ran out of water too, that was silly and insane, it definitely pushed me harder both mentally and physically than ever before on a bike.

I'm surprised I managed OK considering my level of fitness lately (IE: Drinking lots and doing nothing!). I was perhaps the most inconsistent rider of the wntire group. Sometimes I was at the very front, sometimes in the middle of the pack and sometimes at the very back.

Some pics:

Finally on the road, massive apologies for being late to the McDonalds meeting spot everyone!

Andy at the wheel, he drove me there, and back home too. Huge part of my experience as we talked about anything and everything, cheers bud you're a champ!

Even with the Yoda voice guiding our way on Andy's tomtom we managed to get lost, and again, everyone had to wait for us at the Sparrow Hill trail head!

And we're off!!!

Timmy's speech (?! lol). Weather at this stage was nice and cool.

One of many short breaks. Kevin's McDonald's was looking for a quick exit so he "borrowed" a few tissues and hit the woods to drop the kids off.

Checked in to the apartments, which were awesome, great choice Jing. A few cold beers were dunked, a few people crashed out straight away (here's looking at you Felix, Zi, Collin and David!).

Sparrow was hard work, we were all starving and the pub around the corner didn't serve food until 6PM so we literally just waited in there until they opened the kitchen.

I bought a case of beer, which evaporated pretty quickly but the boys next door were far from satisfied, they ran out and bought a bottle of Vodka and the shenanigans began.

Cash was laid down for anyone willing to skull half a litre of vodka and juice.

Timmy was hungry for the money, and to prove that he was a real man that could take his piss.

Skull skull skull. This was actually painful to watch as there was so much liquid to be skulled.

As soon as it was all down Timmy hit the ground with a very bloated stomach.

He then went bright red. Said really silly things, propped himself up against the sliding door which slid as he leant on it (lol) and again made sure we all knew that he could handle his piss.

20 minutes later he was gone and paralised from the hips down.

Using his elbows he managed to slowly crawl from one apartment to the other.

Whilst Timmy was entertaining us (best $10 I've ever spent!) the naughty boys from apartment 9 bought another bottle of Vodka.

HAHA.

It took Timmy a good 10 minutes to get up onto the couch. "I need to take a dump!". Somehow he made it into our apartment next door and threw up 2 litres of chunder (thanks Timmy).

Fuel. We got up early, nearly everyone had a decent nights sleep, we packed up, checked out, got some more McDonalds and hit the road.

Dave (milkman) and Jess hired a van, great idea guys!

Kevin (Monster) and Summer had this efficient set-up in their Hilux.

Kevin ripped off a scab getting the Morewood into the back.

BMU RPRSNT!

A couple of weeks ago I said Melbourne was the riding capital. Crank (Grant) suggested that Canberra was, how true. Bike paths on every single street and riders everywhere. How awesome.

At Stromlo, sore but ready to go!

Carl and Sven, chilling out after our first run.

Considering he hadn't ridden a MTB for a year Andy killed it (note the fixie cap, confused, Andy dressed like a cross dresser all weekend). He borrowed Zi's XTC for Sparrow and Kevins Anthem for Stromlo.

Zi sprained something at Sparrow so he didn't ride up Stromlo but most of us got a shuttle up for our 2nd run (7 bikes and 4 guys in the back of the van with no air, siiiic, literally as I almost threw up when I got out of the van lol). On the way down Zi crashed out on a berm, much skin came off, didn't help that he wasn't wearing any gloves either!!!

Felix!

Felix, Carl, Sven and I had a muck-about on the 4X track which was fun.

Carl on the see saw somewhere near the end of the epic ride which almost killed him.

So much shit food. Last stop before the long boring highway home.

Huge props to Jing for organising the accomodation, and the ride in general and Andy for driving me there and back home.
