![]() My size? ![]() SRS 510 ![]() Not. when I was hanging out with Benwah one night at Fox Studios and a guy at the gym there had one (I was gawking at it so hard he came out to protect his baby). I was at MCC yesterday trying to get the Basso in shape for the Tuesday night Centennial Park ride and I walked out of the shop with a faux disc wheel and a softride frame. The disc wheel is rubbish. It's basically one of those retro aero wheel covers which are installed over a normal wheel (I can't remove it without damaging it). The wheel itself is dead straight, has a nice 7 speed suntour cassette on it but it's a tubular, meaning I'd have to buy a glue strip and tubular tyre if I wanted to get it going. The frame has no decals on it, they've been stripped. It's some sort of chromoly as it's not that heavy. It uses a smaller 650c front wheel (oh no not again). Some Softride bikes: ![]() ![]() What they look like today. Older models below: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The guys were going to bin this gear. But of-course I had to at least grab it, and leave it lying around at my place for at least a while before I contemplate binning it!

Made in the USA, I hear that’s something that will shortly become quite rare…perhaps yours will be worth something someday.

What? Downhill bike?!
Nah, looks like a very interesting project. Justin, Velocity have some 650 wheels on runout at the moment, could get you one sub100. Want me to havea look and see what's around? |
